Concept: Graffiti and Street art should be socially classed as two different art forms but given an equal amount of credit.

As my subject was marker pens and my place was New York City I thought what better than to work with an opinion and concept based on Graffiti as all 4 would tie together nicely. I personally think that Graffiti and Street art should be classed as two similar but both completely different art forms and I want to fully expose this in my research.

The definition of Graffiti:

Graffiti (singular: graffito; the plural is used as a mass noun) is the name for images or lettering scratched, scrawled, painted or marked in any manner on property. Graffiti is any type of public markings that may appear in the forms of simple written words to elaborate wall paintings. Graffiti has existed since ancient times, with examples dating back to Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire.

When most people hear the word graffiti they generally relate to it being some form of vandalism to the side of a property, however they admire the ancient paintings by cave men which both operate around the same principles.

There are over 350 different caves with recognized wall paintings across both France and Spain, A couple examples are below.
