Tagging and tags are a specific and unique thing to every graffiti writer. Since coming to university and meeting the people I've met I've become more interested in Graffiti everyday and started to get sucked down the whirlpool of montana cans and on the run pens. A tag is recognized due to the modifications you draw, its all about flow and keeping your tag fresh and original, something somebody would look twice at. Tagging Terminology
Gang taggers use "tags" or "scrawling" to mark territory, create notoriety or show off their defiance of the law and society. Gangs use this form of graffiti as a mode of marking their presence. Gang taggers may plan their graffiti or do it impulsively.
